ABOUT

Business Under Fire exists because most business content lies by omission. This is the part they don’t show.

WHY THIS EXISTS

Because real business is messy, lonely, and unforgiving.

Business Under Fire was created to document what actually happens behind the scenes. The stress. The doubt. The moments when quitting feels logical. The decisions that don’t fit into a quote graphic or a how-to thread.

These conversations aren’t polished. They’re earned. They come from people who’ve had real money on the line, real employees depending on them, and real consequences when things went wrong.

ABOUT THE HOST

Tommy Bonner

Tommy Bonner is a serial entrepreneur who has worked for himself since opening his first company in 1999. He grew a lawn maintenance business from a one-man operation into a company with over 60 employees.

After navigating that growth, Tommy purchased a retail nursery operation where thousands of plants were grown across 13 greenhouses. It was on this same property that he opened his first restaurant and bar.

Since then, Tommy has built, bought, and opened multiple restaurant concepts. Today, he operates four different concepts with nine locations and nearly 250 employees.

Operator First

In addition to hospitality, Tommy operates a construction business serving only the most discerning clients. He is obsessed with process, execution, and understanding what actually moves the needle in real companies.

Tommy studies under some of the highest-level CEOs and business coaches in the country, constantly refining systems across sales, operations, and leadership.

Business Under Fire is a byproduct of that obsession — a place where experience outweighs opinion.

BEYOND BUSINESS

Precision matters — in business and in the air.

Outside of business, Tommy’s other passion is aviation. He is currently working toward his Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with over 2,500 flight hours. He is type-rated in the Cessna Citation and actively working on his Gulfstream 550 type rating.

Aviation reinforces the same discipline required in business: preparation, decision-making under pressure, and accountability when things go wrong.
